36th ANNUAL EASTERN VHF/UHF CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

Please download from the WEB if necessary) The weekend of April 16, 17 & 18, 2010 brings us the 36th Annual Eastern VHF/UHF Conference which coincides with the "Echoes of Apollo" Moonbounce weekend. The Arecibo 1000' dish will be activated on 432 MHz EME. Our own Dr. Gordon Pettengill, W1OUN was instrumental with the design and operations of many of the systems at the site. Joe Taylor, K1JT Nobel Prize winner in Physics and author of the WSJT weak signal suite spent long periods of research there. He will be present operating the dish during the weekend. At the March NEWS (NorthEast Weak Signal) Group meeting it was decided to set up a 432 MHz EME station to attempt to listen for the station. Corespondence with Joe Taylor led us to attempt a 2 way contact and he offered to set up a schedule for us. Therefore we will be assemblying a complete basic EME station in the rear parking lot for all to view.
